On the afternoon of October 24, Shanghai Estuarine and Coastal Science Research Center, an integrated base of production and education of hydraulic engineering in the College of Ocean Science and Engineering of Shanghai Maritime University, jointly trained postgraduate students, held an opening debate in the Estuary Center. Five tutors from the Hydraulic engineering program of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering and five corporate tutors from the Hekou Center attended the defense meeting.
At the meeting, six joint graduate students reported the background, frame structure and innovation points of their dissertation topics, which involved a number of estuarine frontier technology research such as estuary dynamics, water and sediment transport. The defense committee agreed that the students' topic selection was appropriate, in line with the actual problems of the industry, and had certain foresight and innovation; At the same time, the author puts forward some suggestions on how to further improve the framework of the paper and improve the content of the research, as well as some problems such as the lack of clear research content, academic language and innovation.
Through this defense meeting, the students fully absorbed the opinions and suggestions put forward by the defense committee, clarified the research ideas, and laid a solid foundation for the completion of the research topic and the dissertation with high quality.
